The Tidworth Area Board meeting scheduled for 15 June 2026 was set to cover a range of community matters, including funding applications for local projects, updates from key partners, and discussions on highway improvements. Key Partner Updates
The meeting was scheduled to receive updates from key partners, including the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Town and Parish Councils within the Tidworth area (Tidworth TC, Ludgershall TC, Chute PC, Collingbourne Ducis PC, and Everleigh PC), and the Neighbourhood Police Team, represented by Inspector Gavin Brewster.
Community Spotlight: Southern Policing Hub
An update was planned from the Police and Crime Commissioner, Philip Wilkinson OBE, regarding the Southern Policing Hub.
Funding Applications
The board was scheduled to review remaining budgets and consider several funding applications. The available budgets were: £15,871 for Community Area Grants, £15,655 for Young People, and £7,500 for Older and Vulnerable individuals.
Area Board Initiative:
- Tidworth Area Youth Committee Projects: A request for £1000 was listed for small youth engagement projects identified by the Youth Council.
Older & Vulnerable Grants:
- Age UK Wiltshire: An application for £170 was to be considered for a
Daytime Discos
event for individuals aged 55 and over. The report noted that £830 had already been awarded from the 2025/26 budget.
Young People Grants:
- Army Welfare Service Tidworth: A request for £2,500 was scheduled for summer youth activities and a summer residential programme. The report indicated that £2,500 had previously been awarded from the 2025/26 budget.
- Spurgeons Children's Charity Wiltshire Family Hub: An application for £500 was listed for a
Street Sports
initiative. - Collingbourne Ducis Parish Council: A request for £5,000 was to be considered for the Saunders Meadow Community Area project.
Delegated Funding Awards: The board was also to note any funding awards made under delegated powers since the last meeting, which included:
- Stand Easy Veteran UK: £300 for a tri-weekly hub in Tidworth (from the 2025/26 Community Area Grant budget).
- Age UK Wiltshire: £830 for a
Daytime Discos
event (from the 2025/26 Older & Vulnerable budget). - Army Welfare Service Tidworth: £2,500 for summer youth activities and a summer residential programme (from the 2025/26 Youth budget).
Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)
The minutes and any recommendations from the LHFIG meeting held on 13 May 2026 were to be noted and considered. Specific recommendations included:
- Tidworth TC: £2,000 for signage amendments at Dingleys Promise (REF 15-26-01).
- Tidworth TC: £2,000 for SNP Zouch Farm Close & Sidbury Circular (REF 15-26-04).
Information Items
The meeting was scheduled to note written updates and information items from various organisations, including:

- Wessex Community Action
- Connect to Work Programme and Skills Bootcamps
- Wiltshire Community Lottery launch
- Wiltshire Faith Communities Network
- Wiltshire Council Consultation Portal
Other Business
The agenda also included items for the election of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman for 2026/27, confirmation of previous minutes, and declarations of interest. There was also an opportunity for public questions under the Ask your Area Board
item, followed by updates on Area Board Priorities for Community Safety & Crime, Health & Wellbeing, and Youth. A community discussion was planned specifically on the youth theme.
The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Tidworth Civic Centre, Wylye Rd, Tidworth SP9 7QQ.
