The Appointments and Disciplinary Committee of Croydon Council met on Thursday 30 April 2026. The primary purpose of the meeting was to conduct interviews for the vacant post of Corporate Director of Resources, Section 151 Officer. Following the open session, the committee moved into a private session to conduct these interviews.
Appointment of Corporate Director of Resources
The committee held interviews for the position of Corporate Director of Resources, who also serves as the Section 151 Officer. This role is crucial for the financial management of the council. The agenda indicated that candidates had been shortlisted at a previous meeting on 24 April 2026, and the final panel interview was scheduled to take place in a private session (Part B) of this meeting. The decision-making process for this appointment occurred in the private session.
The meeting also included standard procedural items such as the confirmation of minutes from the previous meeting held on 24 April 2026. The Chair, Mayor Jason Perry, took the opportunity to thank committee members for their work over the past four years, noting that this would be the last meeting of the committee in its current format. The committee then resolved to exclude the press and public from the remainder of the meeting to discuss exempt information, as permitted under the Local Government Act 1972.
