The South Hams Highways and Traffic Orders Committee met on Friday 10 July 2026, electing Councillor Jacqi Hodgson as Chair and Councillor Tony Carson as Vice-Chair. The committee also noted actions taken under delegated powers regarding traffic regulation orders.

Actions Taken Under Delegated Powers

The committee received a report detailing traffic regulation orders that had been progressed under delegated powers since the previous meeting on 8 July 2025. These actions involved the advertisement of traffic orders, and where objections were received, these were resolved through consultation with the Chair and local County Councillors.

Specifically, the following actions were confirmed:

• Ugborough: A 20mph speed limit was introduced in various streets. The traffic order was advertised, objections were resolved, and the order was implemented after consultation with the local County Councillor and the HATOC Chair.
• Ivybridge: In Cornwood Road and Westover Lane, No Waiting At Any Time restrictions and a raised parallel crossing were introduced on Cornwood Road, and a road hump was installed on Westover Lane. The traffic order was advertised, objections were resolved, and the order was implemented following consultation with the local County Councillor and the HATOC Chair.
• Ivybridge: Erme Road saw a reduction in a limited waiting bay to accommodate a new vehicle crossing. The traffic order was advertised, objections were resolved, and the order was implemented after consultation with the local County Councillor and the HATOC Chair.
