The Meetings of Council-side Committees convened following the Annual Council Meeting on 27 May 2026. The primary focus of the scheduled discussions was the appointment of Chairs and Vice-Chairs for various council committees.
Appointment of Chairs and Vice-Chairs
The meeting was scheduled to address the appointment of Chairs and Vice-Chairs for a range of council committees. This included the Adult Social Care and Health Select Committee, Environment Select Committee, Family Services Select Committee, Housing and Communities Select Committee, Administration Committee, Audit and Transparency Committee, Investment Committee, Licensing Committee, and Planning Committee. The Planning Applications Committee and Pension Board were also listed for these appointments. The report pack indicated that the appointments would be based on supplementary papers provided to attendees.
Membership Changes
A further item on the agenda was to note changes to committee memberships that had been approved at the Annual Meeting of the Council. These changes were to be laid around the Chamber for councillors to review.
