The accounts showed a balanced budget, with no significant variances from the projected figures. The approval was unanimous, and the Chair noted the importance of maintaining financial stability.
Derby 2024 Update
The Conservators received an update on the arrangements for the Derby 2024. The report, detailed in Appendix 1, highlighted the planned dates for the race meetings and the necessary preparations. The Conservators unanimously resolved to note the update and expressed confidence in the ongoing preparations.
EDMAC Mobility-Impaired Parking Annual Review
The annual review of mobility-impaired parking for the Epsom Downs Model Aircraft Club (EDMAC) was discussed. The review highlighted the current usage and proposed improvements to accessibility. The Conservators agreed to continue supporting the initiative and to implement the suggested improvements to enhance accessibility for mobility-impaired members.
Vending on Epsom and Walton Downs
The Conservators considered a report on vending on Epsom and Walton Downs. The report proposed new guidelines for vending activities to ensure they align with the Downs' conservation goals. The Conservators approved the guidelines, emphasizing the need to balance commercial activities with environmental preservation.
Other Matters
Several other issues were discussed, including the condition of the Hack Canter Ride at the top of Six Mile Hill, the maintenance of noticeboards, and the resurfacing of the Hack Track from Langley Vale behind Downs House. The Chair provided updates on these matters, noting that extensive scrub clearance and resurfacing work are scheduled to take place later in the year.
The meeting concluded with the Chair thanking the Conservators for their contributions and confirming that the next meeting would address any outstanding issues from the action tracker.
