The Wandsworth Borough Council held its Annual Meeting on Wednesday 13 May 2015, where Councillor Nardelli was elected as the new Mayor and the council adopted recommendations for committee appointments and representatives to outside bodies. The meeting also saw the confirmation of previous minutes and the reception of reports on the Borough Council By-Election and the appointment of Executive members.

Election of Mayor

Councillor Nardelli was elected as the Mayor of the London Borough of Wandsworth for the ensuing year. She announced that Mr Dominic Nardelli would be her main consort and Reverend Alan Gayle of St. Paul's, Belgravia would serve as her chaplain.

Appointment of Deputy Mayor

Councillor McDonnell was appointed as the Deputy Mayor for the 2015/16 municipal year.

Appointment of Committees

The council adopted the recommendations for the appointment of committees, with an amendment to the proposed membership of the General Purposes Committee. Councillor Mrs L Cooper was added in place of Councillor Macdonald, and Councillor Critchard was added in place of Councillor Anderson.

Appointment of Representatives

The council approved the recommendations for the appointment of representatives to outside bodies, as detailed in the appendix of the relevant report.

Borough Council By-Election

A report concerning the Borough Council By-Election held on 7th May 2015 was received as information.

Appointment of Executive Members

A report detailing the appointment of Executive (Cabinet) Members and the Deputy Leader, along with the delegation of Executive powers, was received as information.

Leader of the Opposition

The council received a report on the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition and Deputy Leader of the Opposition as information.

The minutes of the council meeting held on 4th March 2015 were confirmed and signed as a correct record.
