Summary
The Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the new waste vehicle depot, and made recommendations to the Cabinet. Before moving into a closed session to discuss the depot, the committee discussed their work schedule, and heard an update on the implementation of previous recommendations to the Council's Cabinet.
Work Schedule
The committee discussed their future work programme, agreeing to add additional meetings to accommodate upcoming reports.
Several topics for scrutiny were suggested and discussed:
- A 'lessons learned' report on the Council's decarbonisation efforts.
- The delivery of new housing in the Vale of White Horse.
- The use of the Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 agreements, with a particular focus on how these agreements are used to secure infrastructure and services alongside new housing developments.
- Reporting on Section 106 funds that might need to be repaid by the Council.
