The Audit and Corporate Governance (Staff Appeals) Sub-Committee (Panel A) of Camden Council met on Wednesday 2 September 2026. The meeting was scheduled to consider an appeal against dismissal by a former employee, as well as reviewing the minutes from a previous meeting.

Appeal Against Dismissal

The primary item scheduled for discussion was an appeal against dismissal, submitted by a former employee of the council. The Sub-Committee was provided with a report from the Director of People and Inclusion outlining the remit of the Staff Appeal Sub-Committee. This report was accompanied by papers submitted by the appellant, a case summary with a response to the grounds of appeal, and documentation considered at a formal meeting. The Sub-Committee's terms of reference include hearing and determining appeals under the Council's Disciplinary Procedure and Absence Management Procedure.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

The Sub-Committee was also scheduled to approve and sign the minutes of the meeting held on 19 March 2026.

The meeting was scheduled to include private sessions to discuss exempt information relating to a particular employee or former employee, in accordance with Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972. This would have led to the exclusion of the public and press from those parts of the proceedings.
