Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Redbridge and are not the council. About us
The Safe Redbridge Committee is scheduled to consider its work plan for the upcoming year, with a particular focus on the borough's CCTV service. The committee will also review the minutes from its previous meeting.
Safe Redbridge Work Plan 2026-27
A significant item on the agenda is the consideration of the Safe Redbridge Work Plan for 2026-27. This follows a previous meeting on 30 June 2026, where the committee discussed potential priorities for the year. At that meeting, it was recommended that the committee focus on a single topic to allow for in-depth investigation. The options presented included CCTV, domestic abuse response, and the This Has to Stop
campaign. The committee expressed a preference for prioritising CCTV, citing resident demand and its effectiveness as a community safety tool. The report pack indicates that the focus for the upcoming year will be on the CCTV service, with specific sessions planned to cover an Overview of CCTV Service
and a CCTV Service Education and Showcase.
This will involve looking at the 24/7 service, CCTV coverage across the borough, signage, communication with the police, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), and Community Policing Teams (CPTs), as well as key statistics, arrests, and service outcomes. The planned sessions will also include case studies of incidents such as ATM offences and missing children, with police attendance to provide operational context.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The committee is scheduled to approve the minutes of its previous meeting, which took place on 30 June 2026. At that meeting, the committee reviewed its past work, noting a focus on Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) and partnership working with the police in 2025-26, anti-social behaviour and licensing in 2024-25, and youth diversion programs in 2023-24. The minutes also record that the committee agreed to focus on CCTV for the 2026-27 work plan.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at Ley St Depot, 531 Ley Street, Ilford, IG2 7QZ.
The agenda for this meeting can be found in the Agenda frontsheet 08th-Sep-2026 19.00 Safe Redbridge Committee, and the full reports pack is available as the Public reports pack 08th-sep-2026 19.00 Safe Redbridge Committee.
