The Children & Young People Scrutiny Committee discussed two items on its work programme: the recruitment of foster carers in Telford and Wrekin, and an overview of the achievements and future work of Children’s Services. The committee decided to establish task and finish groups to scrutinise both areas in more detail.
Recruitment in Fostering
The committee considered a proposal to set up a task and finish group to scrutinise the council’s policy in relation to the recruitment of foster carers.
The Committee will be asked to consider the formation of a working group to scrutinise the issue further.

Councillor Watling, the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health Systems, provided an overview of the work of Children’s Services. No decisions were made.
