Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Northumberland and are not the council. About us
The North Northumberland Community Partnership meeting was scheduled to cover standard procedural items, including the review of previous meeting notes and the disclosure of members' interests. A significant portion of the agenda was dedicated to a drop-in event featuring various local services and organisations.
Drop-In Event
A drop-in event was scheduled to take place alongside the Community Partnership meeting, offering attendees the opportunity to engage with a range of local services and organisations. These included stalls from Northumbria Police, Northumberland Library Service, and the Northumberland County Council Budget Consultation. Other participating bodies were the Northumberland Rural Growth Service, Alnwick Bus Station, Alnwick Cobbles, Bailiffgate Museum, Lindisfarne Public Park, Northumberland Small Business Service, Northumberland Employability Service Connect to Work, and Lionheart Radio.
Procedural Matters
The meeting was set to begin with the formal acknowledgement of apologies for absence. Following this, members were to review the notes from the previous meeting of the North Northumberland Community Partnership, which had been held on Thursday, 28 May 2026. A key procedural item was the disclosure of members' interests, with detailed guidance provided on how councillors should declare any Disclosable Pecuniary Interests (DPIs), Other Registrable Interests, and Non-Registerable Interests to ensure transparency and adherence to the council's Code of Conduct.
The agenda also included a slot for Public Question Time, where members of the public could submit written questions in advance concerning issues for which the Council has responsibility. The Chair of the meeting had discretion over the management of this session, with specific criteria outlined for the potential rejection of questions, such as those requiring the disclosure of confidential or exempt information, or those deemed defamatory, frivolous, or offensive.
Additionally, the Partnership was scheduled to receive any new petitions, consider reports on petitions previously received, and receive verbal updates on petitions for which a report had already been considered. The agenda concluded with a provision for Urgent Business (If Any),
allowing for the consideration of any matters that, by reason of special circumstances, the Chair deemed necessary to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
