The Appointments Committee met to consider candidates for the role of Assistant Director – City Development.
Appointment of Assistant Director - City Development
The committee was scheduled to consider the shortlisting of candidates for the significant role of Assistant Director – City Development. The report pack indicated that the committee would review applications received for the position. The process involved assessing how each candidate met the essential competencies outlined in the Behavioural Competencies Framework and the Role Profile. The aim was to identify candidates who would be recommended to proceed to the next assessment stage.
The report pack for the meeting, titled Public reports pack 17th-Jul-2026 10.00 Appointments Committee - Assistant Director City Developme, detailed the agenda items. The agenda frontsheet for the meeting can be found here.
The meeting was scheduled to be chaired by Councillor Russell Goodway, Cabinet Member for Business & Investment (Cabinet Member Job Share). Other members of the committee included Councillors Calum Davies, Irene Humphreys, Jon Shimmin, and Lynda Thorne, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities (Housing & Homelessness, Cabinet Member Job Share). The meeting was held remotely via Microsoft Teams.
The report pack also noted that information relating to the appointment of staff is considered exempt from publication under paragraphs 12 and 13 of Part 4, Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972. This legislation allows for the exclusion of the public from discussions where the disclosure of such information would be detrimental to the process or reveal individuals' identities.
The minutes from the previous meeting held on 29th June were also scheduled for approval. These minutes, available as Printed minutes 17th-Jul-2026 10.00 Appointments Committee - Assistant Director City Development.pdf, would have provided a record of any decisions or discussions from that earlier session.
