Public Transport Passenger Safety

The group was scheduled to discuss matters relating to public transport passenger safety within the borough of Wandsworth.

Underground: Step Free Access Projects

Transport for London (TfL) was expected to provide an update on projects aimed at improving step-free access at London Underground stations within Wandsworth Borough. The report pack indicated that feasibility studies were underway for Tooting Broadway station and East Putney station, with completion dates anticipated in Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 respectively. The report also mentioned that improvement work to signalling equipment on the District Line, which serves East Putney station, was scheduled to be completed over the next six months to enhance performance and reliability.

Buses: Bus Quality of Service Indicators

Information regarding the quality of bus services was scheduled to be presented. The report pack included data for Quarter 1 of the 2026/27 financial year, detailing performance indicators for various bus routes operating in the London Borough of Wandsworth. These indicators included metrics such as Scheduled Waiting Time (SWT), Excess Waiting Time (EWT), and the Average Waiting Time (AWT). The report also outlined the methodology for interpreting these results for both high-frequency and low-frequency services, as well as night bus services.

Trains and Overground: Wandsworth Town Station

Network Rail was scheduled to provide an update on the 'Access for All' programme and the development of a new second entrance at Wandsworth Town Station. The report pack indicated that enabling works were in progress for the installation of platform lifts, with a temporary bridge planned to connect the platforms. The subsequent phase of the project involves the construction of the new station entrance. Additionally, security trespass mitigation measures were being investigated in response to concerns from a neighbouring property.
