The Planning Applications Committee of Kensington and Chelsea Council convened on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, to discuss a range of planning applications. Key decisions included the approval of replacement windows and doors at 31-77 Sheffield Terrace, the approval of a change of use for 53 Victoria Road to the Turkmenistan Embassy, and the approval of replacement windows at 130 Lancaster Road and 39 Stoneleigh Street. The committee also approved replacement windows and doors at 7 Treadgold Street, and replacement windows at 53 Cornwall Crescent.
Several applications were granted, including a new dwelling at Land adjacent to 2 Knaresborough Place, subject to a legal agreement. The committee also approved the installation of air conditioning condensers and a canopy at Flat B and C, 19 Hyde Park Gate, with an additional condition for retesting of plant equipment. A retrospective application for a timber pergola at 5 Eagle Place was refused due to its incongruous appearance and harm to the conservation area, as well as a lack of an acceptable fire safety statement.
The committee approved a temporary 12-month use of The Clearings, Draycott Avenue, for padel courts, despite some concerns about noise and design, with a separate advertisement consent for hoarding also granted. A proposal for extensions and subdivision at 78 Princedale Road was approved, subject to a legal agreement. The committee also approved extensions and alterations at 287 King's Road, with a condition for continued dialogue between the club and neighbours.
Other approvals included a first-floor rear extension at 3 Brunswick Gardens, lower ground and ground floor extensions at 318 Earl's Court Road, a loft conversion and extensions at 9 Guthrie Street, a variation to a previous planning permission at 36 and 36a Upcerne Road, and a market pitch on Penywern Road. An addendum report concerning Sheraton Park Tower led to the reaffirmation of a previous grant of planning permission, subject to an updated legal agreement. Finally, the committee approved replacement windows and doors at Clement House, and variations to conditions for works at Treadgold House.
