Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Bromley and are not the council. About us
The Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider updates from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Healthwatch Bromley, as well as review its work programme and outstanding matters. The meeting was also scheduled to receive a verbal update from the South East London Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee.
Update from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to receive a verbal update from the Chief Executive of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This update was expected to cover various aspects of the Trust's operations and strategic priorities. Previous discussions, as detailed in the public reports pack, have included updates on the reconfiguration of Haematology Services at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and general operational matters. The report pack indicates that previous updates have covered topics such as emergency care performance, the Call Before You Convey
scheme, 18-week referral-to-treatment targets, and the opening of a new Endoscopy and Diagnostic Centre at the PRUH. Discussions have also touched upon the MyChart electronic patient record system and its integration with the NHS App, as well as the Trust's financial position and efforts to reduce health inequalities.
Update from Healthwatch Bromley
A verbal update from Healthwatch Bromley was scheduled. Healthwatch Bromley is an independent organisation that gathers and represents the views of patients and the public on health and social care services. Previous reports from Healthwatch Bromley, as noted in the public reports pack, have focused on patient experience, with recent activity centred on digital inclusion and exclusion, and experiences with the NHS App and MyChart.
South East London Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to receive a verbal update from the South East London Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee. This committee plays a role in scrutinising health services across the South East London area.
Work Programme and Matters Outstanding
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to review its work programme for the upcoming year and consider any matters outstanding from previous meetings. The public reports pack indicates that all previous matters outstanding had been completed. The work programme was set to include ongoing updates from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Healthwatch Bromley, and the South East London Joint Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee. New items to be added to the work programme were scheduled to include an update on Maternity Services at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and an update on the Patient Flow Programme at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Portfolio Holder for Adult Care and Health had also requested that feedback be obtained regarding the progress of the implementation of the proposed approach to the Chartwell Unit, with this item suggested for inclusion on the work programme.
