The Planning Sub-Committee of Croydon Council is scheduled to convene on Thursday, 29 October 2026, to consider a range of planning applications. The meeting's agenda includes discussions on proposals for new detached dwellings in Purley and South Croydon, a subdivision of a site in Rutland Gardens, and a two-storey side extension in Turnpike Link.
New Dwellings in Purley and South Croydon
The committee is set to review plans for the demolition of an existing dwelling at Thurlstone, 1A Woodcote Park Avenue, Purley, CR8 3NH and the erection of a new two-storey detached dwelling with accommodation in the roof space and an attached garage. The report pack indicates that the recommendation for this application is to grant permission, with numerous conditions to be imposed, including those relating to biodiversity, construction logistics, external materials, and landscaping.
Also scheduled for consideration is a proposal for the erection of a detached dwelling on land to the rear of 164 Pampisford Road, South Croydon, CR2 6DA. This application also has a recommendation to grant permission, subject to conditions covering construction management, external materials, landscaping, and energy generation measures. Notably, this application has been called to committee due to representations from ward councillors and objections exceeding the threshold.
Rutland Gardens Development
A significant item on the agenda is the proposed subdivision of the site at 11 Rutland Gardens, Croydon, CR0 5ST, involving the demolition of an existing garage and alterations to land levels to enable the erection of a detached, two-storey dwelling house. The report pack suggests granting permission, contingent on a legal agreement to secure planning obligations such as the exclusion of parking permits and financial contributions towards sustainable transport. Conditions are also proposed for construction logistics, biodiversity management, landscaping, and fire safety. This application has been brought before the committee due to objections received.
Turnpike Link Extension
The committee will also examine a proposal for a two-storey side extension at 214 Turnpike Link, Croydon, CR0 5NZ. The report indicates a recommendation to grant permission, with conditions focusing on the use of specified materials, adherence to the fire safety strategy, and compliance with arboricultural impact assessments. This application was referred for committee consideration by ward member Councillor Sean Fitzsimons (Shadow Cabinet Member for Planning & Regulatory Services).
The meeting documents also include the minutes of the previous meeting held on Thursday, 15 October 2026, which will be presented for approval. The agenda also outlines the standard procedure for the disclosure of interests by members.
