The Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Harrow Council met on Thursday 1 October 2026 and established a new Education and Children's Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee. The meeting was brief, lasting only two minutes.

Establishment of an Education and Children's Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee

The committee resolved to establish the Education and Children's Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee for the Municipal Year 2026/27. The membership and Chair of this new sub-committee were detailed in Appendix I of the minutes. The sub-committee will consist of five members, with four from the Conservative party and one from the Labour party. Mina Parmar has been appointed as the Chair of the sub-committee. Reserve members and co-opted positions, including Parent Governors and Faith Representatives, were also noted as having vacancies. The establishment of this sub-committee aims to provide focused scrutiny on matters relating to education and children's services within the council.
