The Health and Social Well-Being Overview and Scrutiny Commission is scheduled to meet on Friday 13 November 2026. The meeting's agenda includes discussions on the Portfolio Holder for Adult Services and Public Health's priorities for the upcoming year, with a particular focus on carers' strategies and support. Additionally, the commission will receive updates on partnerships within Adult Social Care and consider a Trauma Informed Organisational Pledge.
Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care & Public Health Priorities 2026/27
Councillor Chambers, Portfolio Holder for Adult Services and Public Health, is scheduled to provide an update on her priorities for the municipal year. This will include a discussion on the development of the Hull Carers Strategy 2026-2031. This strategy, developed in collaboration with the Hull Carers Partnership Board and unpaid carers, aims to outline why the strategy is needed, how it has been developed, and key areas for improvement identified through consultation. The report notes that A carers strategy is important because it helps ensure that unpaid carers are recognised, listened to, supported, and valued.

The commission will also receive an update on informal and unpaid carers, and a partnership update from Adult Social Care (ASC).
Trauma Informed Organisational Pledge
The commission is scheduled to consider a Trauma Informed Organisational Pledge
for pre-decision scrutiny. This initiative appears to be part of a broader effort to embed trauma-informed practices across organisations within Hull. The report pack indicates that the trauma informed pledge has now been co-developed and will shortly be launched for organisational leaders to sign.
