The Executive of High Peak Borough Council met to discuss rent increases for garage plots. It was decided that the rent for garage plots would increase, as the council had not increased its rents in line with inflation.
Garage Plot Rental Increase
Councillors discussed proposals to increase the rent on council-owned garage plots.
It was noted that the Council has not undertaken an exercise to increase its rents in line with inflation (RPI) in recent years.
It was decided that rents would be increased to £200 per year, with an additional annual increase in line with the retail price index. The changes will come into effect on the 1st of January 2025.
The Committee also decided to increase the rent on garages at Elnor Lane, Whaley Bridge.
