A meeting was held to consider an Individual Executive Member Decision on the subject of procuring cloud services for Wokingham Council's Agresso system.

BWO Cloud Migration

The Executive Member for Resident Services, Inclusion and Fighting Poverty was asked to make a decision on whether to migrate Wokingham Borough Council's Agresso Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to the cloud. Agresso is used by Wokingham Borough Council to manage its finances, budget, payroll and HR. The system is supplied by a company called Unit4, and branded by Wokingham Borough Council as BWO. Unit4 had recently changed their business model, and required that Wokingham Borough Council move to a cloud based system by 31 December 2024.

In November 2023, Unit4, the supplier of the Council’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool Agresso, changed its business model to a hosted only approach. To retain access to a secure system that undergoes regular security patches and software updates, Unit4 requires all users to contract with them directly and agree a contract to migrate to their hosted cloud platform by 31 December 2024. ¹

The report recommended that Wokingham Borough Council enter into a 5 year contract with Unit4 to migrate the system.
