Application for Review of Premises Licence of Calif Bar
The meeting was scheduled to consider an application made by West Midlands Police for the review of the Premises Licence of Calif Bar, 179 Stafford Street, Wolverhampton.
The application to review the licence was made under the Crime and Disorder objective of the Licensing Act 2003.
The application to review the licence was made on the grounds that West Midlands Police believes that the venue is associated with serious crime and disorder.
The report pack includes a number of documents from West Midlands Police, including a 17 page statement from a police sergeant which includes the following:
On 18th November 2024 at approximately 03:00hrs, officers were called to an incident at Calif Bar, 179 Stafford Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1NA following reports of a stabbing. On arrival, officers discovered two males with serious injuries who were subsequently taken to hospital.
No members of the public had made representations in relation to the application.
Calif Bar was represented by Mr D Singh at the meeting.
