The Communities and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on 03 December 2024 was scheduled to include presentations about the work of several organisations working in Hyndburn. The Committee was also scheduled to receive an update from the Chair and to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.

Lancashire Mind

Karen Arrowsmith of Lancashire Mind, a branch of the mental health charity Mind, was scheduled to give a presentation about the organisation's work on suicide prevention.

Inspire East Lancashire

The Committee was scheduled to receive a presentation from Paul Hitchin, the District Manager of the Hyndburn, Rossendale & Ribble Valley branch of the charity Inspire East Lancashire. Inspire is a charity that provides drug and alcohol treatment services.

Over 50's Forum

The committee was scheduled to receive a report on the Hyndburn Over 50's Forum from Jean Battle, who is a co-opted member of the Committee. The Over 50s Forum describes itself as 'a voice for older people in Hyndburn'.

Chair's Update

Councillor Jodi Clements, the Chair of the Committee, was scheduled to give a verbal update to the Committee about any matters arising from previous meetings.
