The Members Home to School Transport Appeals Panel met to consider an appeal against a decision not to provide free school transport. The appeal was refused because the applicant was not attending the nearest school to their home address.
Appeal by Applicant JJ
The Panel considered a report on an appeal against Carmarthenshire Council's decision to refuse an application for free school transport made by an applicant referred to in the meeting as JJ. The meeting was held in private to protect the identity of the applicant.
The Panel considered the written representations of the appellant in respect of the refusal of the Stage 1 Review Panel to grant J.J. free school transport to a school which was not the nearest or LEA designated school for the home address and therefore, did not meet the criteria outlined in the Council’s policy for the provision of assistance.
