Summary
The meeting considered two applications for taxi driver licences. One application, from AAFAR, was approved, and one application, from MU, was refused on safety grounds because they had not demonstrated why the council should depart from its guidance.
Taxi driver licence applications
The committee considered two applications for the grant of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licences, which allow the holder to drive taxis and private hire vehicles.
MU
MU's application was refused because the committee had concerns about MU's safety and suitability to hold a licence. The minutes of the meeting state that MU gave no evidence, exceptional circumstances or justifiable reasons for Members to depart from paragraphs 4.27, 4.39 and 4.42 of their Guidance
.1
AAFAR
