The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local authorities in England and Wales can choose to impose on new developments in their area. It is used to fund infrastructure projects that support the development of the area, such as new roads, schools, and community facilities. ↩
-
Section 106 (S106) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 allows local planning authorities in England to enter into a legally-binding agreement with a developer seeking planning permission for a new development. The agreement can be used to mitigate the impact of the development on the local community. For example, it could be used to secure funding for affordable housing, open space, or transport infrastructure. ↩
