Community Resources Update
Councillors were scheduled to be given an update on the status of the Community Resources budget. The report scheduled for discussion stated that:
At the end of August 2024, there was a total of £9,564.09 uncommitted Section 106 agreement monies available for AC9, of which £0 is designated specifically for tree planting and tree replacement.
It also stated that there was no money to be allocated to tree planting, and that:
The cost of replacement tree planting is: £1075.75 per tree.
The report also provided a link to a document describing the Area Committees Terms of Reference including the details of which wards each committee represents.
Previous Decisions
The Councillors on the committee were scheduled to note several decisions made at previous Area Committee meetings. This included noting the approval of funding from S106 funds, but not CIL funds, for improvements to St Cuthbert’s Church in Brislington West, the installation of a MUGA 2 at Eastwood Farm in Brislington East and the provision of park seats in Redcatch Park in Knowle.

Section 106 (S106) agreements are a mechanism by which local planning authorities, like Bristol City Council, can secure financial contributions from property developers towards the provision of local infrastructure. This often relates to projects and facilities that will mitigate the impact of new developments on the local community. ↩

MUGA is a sports industry acronym for Multi Use Games Area. It is a space designed to accommodate a variety of sports and activities, typically featuring a hard surface and enclosed by a fence or netting. They're common features in parks and recreation grounds, enabling people of all ages to engage in sports like football, basketball, netball, and tennis. ↩
