Summary
The meeting on Tuesday 03 December 2024 of Area Committee 02 was scheduled to discuss the allocation of funding for tree planting from Section 106 monies. In particular the committee was to consider one proposal to allocate these funds. The meeting was also scheduled to note the Committee's terms of reference, and to receive an update on Community Resources.
Tree Planting
The Committee was scheduled to consider whether to approve funding for a programme of tree planting across the Area Committee 02 area.
The application for funding was made by Tree Bristol, an organisation set up by Bristol City Council in 2014. The money for the scheme was to come from Section 106 funds, specifically from those funds that had been allocated for the provision and maintenance of tree planting either on-street or in public open space within a one-mile radius of the Memorial Stadium, Horfield, Bristol.

The Committee was scheduled to note that there was a total of £7,529.88 uncommitted Section 106 agreement monies available for allocation in Area Committee 2, all of which had been designated for tree planting and tree replacement.

The Area Committee should be consulted on any proposal to dispose of local authority land, community buildings or any community asset transfer, recognising that some transactions will be commercially sensitive.
