Development Management Committee - Thursday, 19th December, 2024 7.00 pm
December 19, 2024 View on council websiteSummary
The Development Management Committee will be considering a request for a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) at Woodlands Park, Fawkham, and planning applications for the installation of solar panels at the White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley and at 3 St Johns Hill in Sevenoaks.
Woodland Tree Preservation Order (TPO) at Woodlands Park, Fawkham
The committee will be asked to consider an objection to a TPO that was made to protect ancient woodland. The report pack notes that the woodland is currently unmanaged. It says that As no parts of the site are currently being managed actively as woodland, it is unclear as to the future intentions for the site
and goes on to say that This TPO will provide a level of protection for the woodland with the aim to ensuring that it is managed responsibly moving forwards.
(Item 5.1 - TPO 05 2024 - FINAL - FORMATTED - Redacted)
Solar Panel Installation at White Oak Leisure Centre
The committee will be asked to decide whether to grant prior approval for the installation of 1,000 solar panels on the roof of the White Oak Leisure Centre. (Item 4.1 - 24-02818 FINAL - FORMATTED) The panels would generate 435 kilowatts of electricity.
Solar Panel Installation at 3 St Johns Hill, Sevenoaks
The committee will be asked to decide on an application for listed building consent for the installation of 11 solar panels on the south-facing roof slopes of 3 St Johns Hill. (Item 4.3 - 24-02037 FINAL - FORMATTED) This application has been called in due to the property being the home of a Sevenoaks councillor. The report notes that The proposal would lead to the introduction of a highly incongruent feature that would disrupt the architectural integrity of the south facing roof slopes
but goes on to argue that public views towards the southern elevation of the property are heavily restricted by existing vegetation and trees.
(Item 4.2 - 24-02036 FINAL - FORMATTED)
