The recommendation, which will be considered at the meeting, follows a Council decision on 15 October 2024 that the honour and title of Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Worthing be conferred on [Hazel Thorpe]
. The recommendation cites their eminent and distinguished service rendered to the Council and the Borough
. The report pack says that awarding the title of Honorary Alderman or Alderwoman is governed by Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972.
