The Planning Committee of Carmarthenshire Council met on Tuesday 9 April 2024 and granted a planning application for new residential dwellings in Llanelli. The meeting was delayed due to a prior site visit.
Determination of Planning Applications
The committee granted the planning application for the erection of new residential dwellings, vehicular access, open space, and other associated infrastructure at land at Cefncaeau, Llanelli. This decision was made subject to the conditions detailed within the Report/Addendum of the Head of Place and Sustainability.
The Senior Development and Enforcement Manager, Hugh Towns, referred to a private site visit undertaken by the committee earlier that day, which allowed members to view the northern section of the application site. He presented an appraisal of the site, a description of the proposal, a summary of consultation responses, and information on relevant local and national policies. Mr. Towns advised that the site is allocated for housing within the Local Development Plan1. If the application were granted, the consent would be subject to a Section 106 Agreement2 to include the provision of affordable housing and other community benefits. The Head of Place and Sustainability recommended approval of the application.
