Licensing Sub-Committee - Monday, 1st September, 2025 10.00 am
September 1, 2025 View on council website Watch video of meetingSummary
The Licensing Sub-Committee met on 1 September 2025, and elected Councillor David Flagg as Chair for the duration of the meeting. They then agreed to adjourn a hearing for a new premises licence for Units 1 & 2 Stirling House until 16 September 2025, due to administrative reasons.
Units 1 & 2 Stirling House, Poole Hill
The Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr Salah Sabir for a new premises licence for Units 1 & 2 Stirling House, 48-50 Poole Hill, Bournemouth, BH2 5PS, to permit off sales of alcohol from 08:00 to 23:00 Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 00:00 Friday and Saturday, and from the start of permitted hours on New Year's Eve to the end of permitted hours on New Year's Day.
The report noted that two representations had been received regarding the application, one from a member of the public and one from Dorset Police, on the grounds of the prevention of crime and disorder, prevention of public nuisance, public safety and the protection of children from harm.
The report stated that Dorset Police suggested conditions to be included on the premises licence, should it be granted, in addition to the conditions offered in the application. The applicant agreed to all but two of the recommended conditions, meaning Dorset Police had not withdrawn their representation. Trading Standards had agreed conditions with the applicant.
The Sub-Committee agreed to open and adjourn the hearing until the Licensing Sub Committee meeting on 16 September 2025, due to administrative reasons.
