The Service Delivery Overview & Scrutiny Panel met to discuss the Levelling Up Fund, garden waste collection, street cleansing, the Accommodation Acceleration Plan, and the Countryside Sites Management Annual Report from the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. The panel reviewed and discussed a report on the council's discretionary garden waste collection service, received a presentation on the Levelling Up Fund, and received the Countryside Sites Management Annual Report. The Street Cleansing report was deferred to the next meeting.
Garden Waste Collection
The panel reviewed and discussed a report detailing the council's discretionary garden waste collection service, in light of upcoming legislative changes to food waste collection services. Councillor Callum Beswick declared an interest as Chair of Horton Church.
Levelling Up Fund Update
The panel received a presentation on the progress of projects funded by the Levelling Up Fund1, including the markets refurbishment in Leek, the Brough Park Leisure Centre project, and the refurbishment of the Nicholson Institute. The panel resolved to receive the presentation.
Countryside Sites Management Annual Report
The panel received the Countryside Sites Management Annual Report from the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.
Work Programme
The panel agreed to the following changes to their work programme:
- The street furniture working group will report back to the committee later in the year.
- The deferred Street Cleansing report will be brought to the next meeting.
- The work programme was approved.
