Two appeals were lodged:

  • Romney Building, Shaws Farm, 28 Wyke Lane in Scarisbrick, for determination as to whether prior approval of details is required for a Class Q6 conversion of an agricultural building to a dwelling house with associated work. Mr Simon Cruickshanks lodged an appeal, which will be determined through written representations.
  • 2 Pear Tree Mews in Lathom, for a single storey rear extension with a parapet fibre glass roof with stone capping and raised lantern style roof with no glazing. Mr John Turner lodged an appeal, which will be determined through written representations.

Planning Appeals Decided

One appeal was decided:

  • Malt Kiln Barn, on Halsall Road in Halsall, for the demolition of a non-listed dwellinghouse and ancillary barn, and the erection of one five-bed self-build dwellinghouse with associated landscaping.   1. A bund is an embankment or other construction intended to provide containment of hazardous materials. 

  2. A Lawful Development Certificate confirms that an existing or proposed development is lawful under planning law. 

  3. It is not possible to determine what LLPA refers to. 

  4. Use Class C2 of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 covers the provision of residential accommodation with care to people in need of care. 

  5. Class E is a use class in the UK planning system that includes a variety of commercial, business and service uses. 

  6. Class Q refers to a section of the General Permitted Development Order that allows for the conversion of agricultural buildings into residential dwellings without the need for full planning permission. 

  7. Listed Building Consent is required for alterations or extensions to a listed building that affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest.
