The Rickmansworth Local Area Forum met to discuss the future of local government in Hertfordshire, receive an update on community safety, and hear about local issues. Councillor Sarah Nelmes, Deputy Leader of the Council, Lead Member for General Public Services, chaired the meeting.
Future of Local Government in Hertfordshire
Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, was scheduled to speak about changes to local government in Hertfordshire. The report pack stated that attendees would be able to hear about why these changes are happening and how they will affect them, and to have their say.
Community Safety Update
The forum was scheduled to receive an update on local policing and priorities. Community safety is a key concern for local councils, who have a duty to promote it under the Crime and Disorder Act 19981.
