The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Panel met on Monday 22 September 2025. Questions for the Police and Crime Commissioner
The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Panel invited Mr Rupert Matthews, the Police and Crime Commissioner, to answer questions about his recent change in political affiliation. Mr Matthews was elected as a member of the Conservative Party on 2 May 2024, but on 4 August 2025, he announced that he had joined Reform UK1. According to the agenda frontsheet, the panel considered this Q&A necessary for it to carry out its functions.
