The Scrutiny Board (Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth) is scheduled to meet to discuss the Leeds Local Plan 2040, the Vision Zero road safety strategy, and active travel initiatives. The board will also consider its work schedule for the 2025/26 municipal year and receive an update from the University of Leeds on research related to driver safety.
Leeds Local Plan 2040
The Scrutiny Board (Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth) is scheduled to receive an update on proposals to update the Leeds Local Plan 2040. The Leeds Local Plan1 sets out a planning framework for the city.
Vision Zero Annual Update
The board is scheduled to discuss the Connecting Leeds Vision Zero 2040 Annual Progress Report 2024-25, alongside a summary of progress against targets in the associated Action Plan 2022-25. They will also consider the new Vision Zero Action Plan 2025-28.
Vision Zero2 is a road safety strategy that aims to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. The board will also receive a summary of the conclusions of the Scrutiny Board (Environment, Housing and Communities) following a public meeting on 17 July 2025, related to Vision Zero 2040.
Active Travel Update
The Scrutiny Board (Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth) is scheduled to receive an update on the expansion of active travel3 in Leeds.
University of Leeds Research Update
The Scrutiny Board (Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth) is scheduled to receive an update from the University of Leeds regarding research relating to hazard anticipation and improving driver safety.
Work Schedule
The Scrutiny Board (Infrastructure, Investment & Inclusive Growth) is scheduled to consider its work schedule for the 2025/26 municipal year, as detailed in the IIIG SB Work Schedule 2025 2026 document.
