September 23, 2025 View on council websiteSummary
The Bradford and Airedale Wellbeing Board were scheduled to meet on Tuesday 23 September 2025 to discuss the district strategy, a cohesion framework, a pharmaceutical needs assessment and the Better Care Fund. The board was also scheduled to decide whether to exclude the public from part of the meeting.
Here's a breakdown of the topics that were scheduled to be discussed:
District Strategy 2025-2035
The board were scheduled to discuss and approve the new District Strategy 2025-2035. The report of the Chief Executive, City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC) was to be presented to the board, with a recommendation to approve the strategy and confirm commitment to supporting its delivery. The board was also scheduled to consider the draft objectives, actions, measures and targets for the delivery plan, and ensure that the strategy provides the framework for organisational and partnership planning.
Bradford District Cohesion Framework
The board were scheduled to discuss the Bradford District Cohesion Framework 2025-2030. The report of the Director, Environment was scheduled to provide information on the background and context of the development of the framework.
The board was scheduled to be asked for their views and comments on the draft framework.
The agenda also notes that members were to consider excluding the public from the discussion of the appendices to the framework report, as they contain information considered to be exempt under paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 19721. This relates to financial or business affairs, and it was considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information, as it is the property of a third-party organisation and is currently confidential.
Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment
The board were scheduled to receive a report from the Director of Public Health regarding the completion of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) covering the period 2025-2028. The PNA was scheduled to be published on the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) website on 1 October 2025.
Better Care Fund
The board were scheduled to receive a report from the Chair of the Bradford and Airedale Wellbeing Board to inform members of the quarter 1 position for the Better Care Fund (BCF) 2025-26. The report was also scheduled to provide assurance that the BCF is meeting the national requirements and policies.
