The Licensing & Appeals Committee of West Lancashire Council were scheduled to meet on 1 October 2025. During the meeting, they were scheduled to discuss an application for a private hire driver licence, and to review the minutes of a previous meeting. Some of the meeting was expected to be held without members of the press and public present.
Application for Private Hire Driver Licence
The committee was scheduled to review a report from the Assistant Director of Planning and Regulatory Services regarding an application for a private hire driver licence with the reference number WK/000291453.
Exclusion of Press and Public
The committee was scheduled to consider excluding the press and public from the meeting whilst discussing the application for a private hire driver licence. The report pack stated that this was:
...in accordance with section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act (paragraph 2 Identity of an individual and Paragraph 7 Criminal Matters, and as, in all the circumstances of the case, not in the public interest in disclosing the information.
Minutes
The committee was scheduled to receive the minutes of the meeting held on 23 July 2025 as a correct record. The minutes of the previous meeting show that the committee considered another application for a private hire driver licence – WK/000290251 – and decided to refuse it.
