Summary
The General Licensing Committee of Swansea Council met on Friday, 3 October 2025, to discuss several licensing matters. Councillor Penny Matthews was scheduled to chair the meeting, which was held at a multi-location meeting at the Lilian Hopkin Room, Guildhall and via MS Teams. The committee was expected to discuss the exclusion of the public from certain agenda items, as well as several Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licence applications.
Exclusion of the Public
The committee was scheduled to consider excluding the public from the meeting during discussions of certain items. According to the Public Reports Pack, this was because the items involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as set out in the Paragraphs listed below of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) (Wales) Order 2007
. The relevant paragraphs of Schedule 12A were paragraphs 12 and 13, which relate to information about particular individuals and information likely to reveal the identity of an individual.
Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licence
The committee was scheduled to discuss applications relating to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licences under the Town Police Clauses Act 18471 and the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 19762. The applications to be discussed were for ZDJ, AHA and HVW.
