Summary
The Bury Council Youth Cabinet is scheduled to meet to discuss a range of topics, including youth-led health initiatives, participation in the Festival of Remembrance, and updates from various youth representatives and groups. The meeting will also include updates on the Youth Cabinet's motion at the council and 'circles of influence'.
Youth-Led Health Discussion
Jon Hobday, Director of Public Health, is expected to attend the meeting to provide an update and answer questions related to health and young people across the borough. This discussion is particularly significant as it allows the Youth Cabinet to directly engage with a senior public health official and address health-related concerns affecting young people in Bury.
Youth Participation at Festival of Remembrance
The Youth Cabinet is scheduled to discuss their potential involvement in the Festival of Remembrance, which is to be held at Bury Parish Church on 4 November. The cabinet is invited to contribute to the event by writing and reading a poem or similar piece. The Festival of Remembrance is described as an evening that:
will include music, readings, and reflections, bringing together veterans, members of the community, civic leaders, and representatives from local organisations.
Updates from Youth Representatives and Groups
The agenda includes several updates from youth representatives and groups:
- Youth Cabinet Motion at Council: An update on the Youth Cabinet's motion at the council will be provided.

- GMYCA Update: An update from the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority (GMYCA) will be provided.
- Youth Led Policing Update: An update on youth-led policing initiatives will be given. At the meeting held on 17 July 2025, Inspector Hussain from Greater Manchester Police attended to explain about the work of the Police since the last Youth Cabinet meeting.
The Big Debate
