The Croydon Council Appointments and Disciplinary Committee met to progress the appointment of a Director of Assets and Repairs and a Director of Planning and Sustainable Regeneration. Shortlisted candidates for both positions were interviewed in a closed session following the public portion of the meeting.

Appointment of Directors

The main purpose of the meeting was to progress the appointment of two director-level positions within the council.

• Director of Assets and Repairs: The committee moved to interview shortlisted candidates for this role. Details regarding the job description and salary were made available in the agenda pack from the 1 October 2025 meeting.
• Director of Planning and Sustainable Regeneration: Similar to the previous item, the committee moved to interview candidates for this role, with job details available in the 1 October 2025 agenda pack.

Exclusion of Press and Public

Following discussion of the two appointments, Councillor Lynne Hale, Statutory Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Homes, proposed that the press and public be excluded from the meeting to allow for confidential interviews to take place. This proposal was seconded by Councillor Stuart King, Leader of the Opposition, and agreed by the committee. The decision was made under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972¹, which allows for the exclusion of the press and public when confidential information is likely to be disclosed.
