The Highways Committee of Durham County Council is scheduled to meet on Monday 10 November 2025, to discuss a number of highways-related issues. These include a Definitive Map Modification Order Application relating to a public footpath in West Rainton, a proposed 20mph zone in Gilesgate, and a Traffic Regulation Amendment Order for parking and waiting restrictions in Consett.

Alleged Public Footpath, West Rainton

The committee will consider an application for a Definitive Map Modification Order¹ (DMMO) relating to an alleged public footpath in West Rainton. The alleged footpath runs from Public Right of Way (PRoW) 2 The Dene to PRoW 21 The Red Track. The application has been made to Durham County Council to add the route to the definitive map. Gilesgate 20mph Zone
