Summary
The Westbury Area Board were scheduled to meet to discuss community and partner updates, funding applications, and local highways improvements. Councillor Gordon King, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, was expected to bring a motion to the board. The board was also scheduled to receive announcements from Councillor Robert Smith, Westbury West, and updates from lead councillors on area board priorities.
Area Board Funding
The Westbury Area Board was scheduled to consider a motion from Councillor Gordon King regarding future grant applications. The motion stipulated that applicants should provide the board with specific information, including:
- Total number of people seen with a +/- comparison with the previous year.
- Total Number of people seen by category of need as described in the application
- Number of people who dropped out before completion
- Number successfully completed with a description of why it was successful
- The number of people who have been followed up to ensure counselling was beneficial and that they are now leading better lives.
- Any anonymised quotes (by example) received expressing satisfaction or disappointment in the service.
The board was also scheduled to consider funding applications for community area grants, and older and vulnerable grants, including:
- £4,000 for Development FC - Westbury United Youth and Westbury United Youth and Development Tea Hut
- £2,000 for Age UK Wiltshire - Wiltshire Westbury - Celebrating Age
Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group
The Westbury Area Board was scheduled to note the minutes and consider any recommendations arising from the last Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group (LHFIG) meeting held on 6 November 2025.
