The Passenger Transport Liaison Group of Wandsworth Council met on Wednesday 25 March 2026 to discuss public transport safety, bus performance, and ongoing rail and underground infrastructure projects. The meeting was scheduled to receive updates on various initiatives aimed at improving passenger experience and accessibility across the borough.
Public Transport Passenger Safety
A key item on the agenda was an update from the Community Safety Team representative regarding the Safe Spaces scheme at Clapham Junction Station. This initiative aims to enhance safety for passengers using public transport.
Buses
The group was scheduled to receive and note information from the Bus Quality of Service Indicators report1. This report provides data on the performance of bus services within the borough. Additionally, an update was planned on the performance monitoring of the G1 Bus Route, a service that has recently seen the introduction of zero-emission buses.
Trains and Overground
Network Rail was expected to provide updates on two significant projects. The first concerned the 'Access for All' programme and the development of a new second entrance at Wandsworth Town Station. The second update from Network Rail was to cover the construction of a second entrance at Queenstown Road Station.
Underground
Transport for London (TfL) was scheduled to present updates on two separate matters. The first was concerning Step Free Access projects within the London Borough of Wandsworth, aimed at improving accessibility on the London Underground network. The second update from TfL was to detail the refurbishment of the rail bridge at East Putney Underground Station.
