The Audit and Risk Committee convened to discuss the council's financial position, review and approve the draft annual internal audit plan for 2025-26, and set the scope for future deep dives into areas of potential risk. The committee approved the Internal Audit Strategy, the Internal Audit Charter, and the Draft 2025/26 Annual Internal Audit Plan.

The Committee approved the council's statement of accounts for 2023-24, as well as the Pension Fund accounts, and were satisfied with the Auditor's Annual Report and Value for Money conclusions. The Committee noted the decision to end the shared Internal Audit service with Camden, and discussed the future work plan for the Committee.

The meeting on the 10th of December 2024 was of the Islington Council Pensions Board. The meeting was scheduled to receive reports on the performance of the Islington Pension Fund, the performance of the Pensions administration team, and an update on an interim actuarial review of the fund. The board was also scheduled to review the Pension Fund's Risk Register, and note the board's forward work programme.
