Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 2nd October 2025 6.30 pm
Councillor Paul Gleeson, Chair of the Committee, led the Boston Borough Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting, where members discussed Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership efforts, Anglian Water's infrastructure plans, community safety, and budget preparations. The committee recommended a safeguarding policy to the cabinet and agreed to bring back the Local Council Tax Support Scheme for further review at the next meeting.
Cabinet - Wednesday 17th September 2025 6.00 pm
The Boston Borough Council Cabinet met to discuss the first quarter performance and risks, the financial position, and several strategic initiatives. Councillors agreed to consult on options for the local Council Tax Support scheme for 2026/27, approved a new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, and supported the continuation of the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Crowdfunding Scheme. A new Body Worn Video Policy for the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership was also approved.
Full Council - Monday 21st July 2025 6.30 pm
Boston Council's meeting on 21 July 2025 saw Councillor Dale Broughton elected as the new leader of the council following a motion to remove Councillor Anne Dorrian from the position, and the approval of budget adjustments for the capital programme. The council also discussed the annual treasury report and the allocation of seats on committees.
Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 17th June 2025 6.30 pm
The Boston Borough Council Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Plan for Neighbourhoods and an update on Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). The committee heard that Boston is to receive £20 million over the next 10 years as part of the government's Plan for Neighbourhoods programme, and that the council has received £450,000 in capacity funding to help prepare the plans. The committee also received an update on the council's enforcement activity in relation to HMOs, and discussed the upcoming Renters Rights Bill. The committee agreed to note the report on HMOs and the Plan for Neighbourhoods, and to discuss them further at a workshop on 3 July 2025.
Special, Overview & Scrutiny - Corporate & Community Committee - Thursday 8th May 2025 6.30 pm
At a special meeting of the Overview & Scrutiny - Corporate & Community Committee, Boston Borough Council[^1] councillors reviewed the council's scrutiny arrangements. Councillors voted in favour of a proposal to move to a single scrutiny committee of 15 members, meeting monthly, with a focus on enabling task and finish groups to work effectively, and a six-month review of the new arrangements. This recommendation will now go to the full council for a final decision.
