Harrow Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the adoption of an urgent motion condemning the Labour government's budget, petitions relating to road safety and resurfacing, and a motion opposing the planned closure of the volunteer-led front desk at Pinner Police Station. The council also endorsed the Pension Board Annual Report for 2024/25 and approved a constitution update.

(Special Meeting), Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Panel - Monday 29 September 2025 6.30 pm

The Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Panel met to discuss and unanimously recommend that Harrow Council's Leader of the Council approve the implementation of a red route in parts of Rayners Lane, Alexandra Avenue and Village Way East to improve traffic flow, access to parking and loading, and reduce congestion. The panel also recommended delegating authority to the Strategic Director of Culture, Environment and Economy, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Finance and Highways, to agree the terms of the experimental traffic management order, having undertaken further pre-order engagement, and to make decisions to withdraw the order or make modifications to it during the experimental period. Finally, the panel noted that a decision on whether to make a permanent order will go to Cabinet for approval.

A motion to demand that the Labour government honour the funding commitment for a new special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school in Harrow was approved, while motions opposing the Mayor of London's planned closure of Harrow Police Station's front desk and opposing the Labour Government's closure of Mount Vernon's Urgent Care Unit were both carried.
