Harrow Council met to discuss a range of issues, including public safety, education, and healthcare. A motion to demand that the Labour government honour the funding commitment for a new special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school in Harrow was approved, while motions opposing the Mayor of London's planned closure of Harrow Police Station's front desk and opposing the Labour Government's closure of Mount Vernon's Urgent Care Unit were both carried.

Planning Policy Advisory Panel - Monday 15 September 2025 6.30 pm

At a meeting of the Planning Policy Advisory Panel, Councillor Stephen Greek, Portfolio Holder for Performance, Communications & Customer Experience, was appointed vice-chair, and the panel discussed the progress of the New Harrow Local Plan 2021-2041, including potential modifications and upcoming consultations, and also considered the designation of three local areas of special character, recommending their adoption to the Chief Planning Officer.

Planning Committee - Wednesday 3 September 2025 6.30 pm

The Harrow Council Planning Committee met on 3 September, and made decisions on planning applications, including approving a housing development on Harrow Island, and the removal of a protected tree. The committee also reviewed appeal decisions from the previous quarter, and discussed ways to improve the council's success rate in defending planning appeals.

Planning Committee - Wednesday 23 July 2025 6.30 pm

The Harrow Council Planning Committee met on 23 July 2025, and approved applications for a housing development on the Grange Farm Estate, a change of use for the Brethren's Meeting Hall, and two retrospective applications for housing in Roxborough Park and Norman Crescent. Councillor Marilyn Ashton, Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration, recused herself from the first two items due to a non-pecuniary interest.

Planning Committee - Wednesday 25 June 2025 6.30 pm

The Harrow Council Planning Committee met on Wednesday 25 June 2025, and approved six planning and certificate applications, while also noting a minor typographical error in the minutes of the previous meeting. Councillor Christopher Baxter, Vice-Chairman of the Planning Committee, declared a pecuniary interest in agenda item 2/04, and Councillor Marilyn Ashland, Chairman of the Planning Committee and Deputy Leader of the Council, declared a non-pecuniary interest in agenda item 2/01.
