At a meeting of the Planning Policy Advisory Panel, Councillor Stephen Greek, Portfolio Holder for Performance, Communications & Customer Experience, was appointed vice-chair, and the panel discussed the progress of the New Harrow Local Plan 2021-2041, including potential modifications and upcoming consultations, and also considered the designation of three local areas of special character, recommending their adoption to the Chief Planning Officer.

Local Areas of Special Character

The panel reviewed the outcomes of a consultation on designating three Local Areas of Special Character (LASCs) and recommended that the Chief Planning Officer, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration, adopt the following areas:

• 1-40 Kenton Park Parade
• 18-40 (even) and 51-63 (odd) West End Lane and 79-81 West End Avenue, Pinner
• Parts of West Harrow Village, specifically 158-166 (even) and 181-189 (odd) Vaughan Road, 81-129 Butler Road, 2-32 and 54-76 Drury Road and 16-42 Heath Road, to be added to the existing designation.
