Licensing Regulatory Committee - Monday, 10th June, 2024 6.30 pm
The Licensing Regulatory Committee of Islington Council was scheduled to discuss new charges for pavement licences in the borough, and whether to designate an area of pavement in Archway for street trading. They were also set to receive a report about the administrative arrangements for the committee in 2024/25.
Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 21st May, 2024 6.20 pm
The Licensing Committee met and set the schedule of Licensing Sub-Committee meetings for the 2024/2025 municipal year. They also agreed the membership of each of the four sub-committees, and appointed a Chair and Vice-Chair for each one. The minutes of the meeting held on 12 March 2024 [^1] were agreed.
Annual Council - Thursday, 16th May, 2024 7.30 pm
Councillor Anjna Khurana was elected as Mayor of Islington for 2024/25, with Councillor Jason Jackson as her deputy. Outgoing Mayor, Councillor Gary Heather, was thanked for his service to the borough. Councillor Kaya Comer-Schwartz announced a refreshed Executive, with new responsibilities and some changes in personnel. The Council also approved a number of constitutional amendments relating to the operation of scrutiny, changes to the Members’ Allowances Scheme and procurement rules, and the membership and terms of reference for the Council’s committees.
Licensing Sub Committee A - Tuesday, 16th April, 2024 6.30 pm
The meeting considered applications for new premises licences from three different businesses, and a proposal to revoke a personal licence. The Sub-Committee decided to grant the premises licences with a number of conditions, and to revoke the personal licence.
Licensing Sub Committee C - Thursday, 11th April, 2024 6.00 pm, NEW
The Licensing Sub-Committee C of Islington Council met on 11 April 2024 and made two decisions: they granted a licence variation to Knotel Workclub at Old Sessions House, 23 Clerkenwell Road subject to some amendments, and they refused an application for a new licence by Biryani Guys, at 42 Old Street.
